Retargeting: Are you losing money with your Facebook Advertising?

You’ve likely heard me speak a lot about retargeting a lot in the past. (If you haven’t check out this article)

In LeadCraft, our premier lead-generation program, we teach Lead Generation, Facebook advertising and using intelligent retargeting.

One of the biggest problems with retargeting is that you can’t just retarget anyone.

Think about it:

If someone visits your website or your sales page and stays for less than 5 seconds, are they actually interested?

In the same breath, if someone is on your sales page for 30 minutes, don’t you think that they’re really interested?

What we’re talking about is the most effective type of retargeting, which I call micro-targeting.

See, Facebook allows us to target a very small number of users, as few as 20 people.

And regardless what type of business you have, I can guarantee you, micro-targeting works extremely well.

Back in May, when we launched LeadCraft we did a special campaign.

Using some advanced logic and some custom programming, anyone who was our sales page for more than 10 minutes or visited it 3 times were delivered a special ad via the Facebook Network.

In total, it was delivered to 142 people, and from that single ad on Facebook we were able to book 37 phone calls and close 14 sales worth roughly $1,700 each.

It costs us $52.12 to run.
I don’t believe you can get return on investment like that anywhere.

This changes the game on retargeting.

So, why doesn’t everyone do this?

Until now, there’s been a key problem.

Attempting to target based on the amount of time on a page meant custom code programming, something that 99% of our customers couldn’t do.
Every time we wanted to do this highly effective method of micro-retargeting, we would have to pay our programmer anywhere from $50 to $100, and it would take a couple days before “he got around to it.”

Do it 5 times and we were spending at least $300 or so doing this.

Yes, there was ROI, however, I wanted to do MORE of this. I wanted to be able to do this at a moment’s notice.

Recently, I found out there is a better way.

It’s a brand new piece of software that essentially “connects” with Facebook advertising and allows you to do EXACTLY what I spoke about in less than 90 seconds.

I’m so blown away by this that I contacted my Advertising Manager with a voice message that went sort of like this:

“OMG, have you seen this? I’m gone to do my happy dance!!!”

What I’m speaking about is called ConnectRetarget and it’s probably the most intelligent, brilliant piece of Facebook Advertising software I’ve ever seen.

Not only does it allow you to retarget by time, it allows you retarget based on:

  • Time on site.
  • How far they’ve scrolled.
  • Language.
  • Where they were referred from.
  • How many times they’ve visited.
  • Which days they’ve visited.
  • Where they visited from.

Think about it.



You can now retarget people who were referred from partners differently than from your ad campaign. If you’re featured in a podcast, different again.

If someone was on your sales page, but didn’t scroll to a specific piece, you can retarget them as well.

This is a game-changer when it comes to retargeting. I want you to be able to use it effectively and efficiently.
